School Meals
Our meals are cooked on the premises and we ensure our meals are healthy, fresh and tasty. We offer a daily salad bar, fresh fruit and a cold packed lunch option. The menus are on a 4 week cycle to ensure children have variety. Children are encouraged to eat a balanced meal and try new foods.
Each term we have special themed days that all children, including those who have a packed lunch, are welcome to have.
Universal Free School Meals
In September 2014 the government introduced universal free school meals for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. All of our children in these year groups stay for a school lunch. Only in exceptional circumstances, agreed by school, do our younger children bring a packed lunch. When children are on a school trip school provides a packed lunch for children in Reception, Year 1, 2 and other children who usually have a school lunch.
Free School Meals
Your child (Years 3-6) can have free school meals if you receive Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Child Tax Credit if your income is no more than £16,190 (and you do not get Working Tax Credit), or if you receive Support under part Vl of the Immigration and Asylum Act.
Please check with the school office if you are unsure. The link below will take you to the City of Sunderland Link.
